Donald L. Silverman, Esq., Chief Executive Officer, Principal
Donald Silverman has directed all investment and new development activities for MQ Development Company and affiliates since 1991. In this capacity, he orchestrated the development and acquisition of retail shopping centers, mixed-use development, multi-family projects and single-family subdivisions.
In addition to identifying each opportunity, he has negotiated the terms of purchase and development for each new project. The aggregate value of Silverman’s real property transactions is in excess of 800 million.
For the past twenty-five years, Mr. Silverman has focused on retail development in the state of Texas, primarily in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Since 2013, the Company has also been engaged in new retail development projects on the west coast of Florida. He directs comprehensive development activities in conjunction with community, strip shopping centers and regional power centers. For many years he has been the most prolific developer of Kroger anchored centers in the DFW market. During this period, Silverman has developed and redeveloped thirteen Kroger anchored-shopping centers.
Prior to establishing the MQ Companies, Mr. Silverman held senior positions with other companies, including: The Midland Group, St. Louis; Metropolitan Structures, Chicago; VMS Realty Partners, Chicago; and, the Consolidated Capital Companies, Emeryville, California.
Silverman’s education includes: a Graduate Tax Law Degree (L.L.M.) from the Boston University School of Law; a J.D. degree from New England Law|Boston, an M.B.A. from Boston College and a B.A. from Boston University. He has law licenses in Massachusetts, Florida and California. Silverman is a licensed real estate broker in Texas.
Suzan Cooper, CCIM, Chief Operating Officer, Principal
As the Chief Operating Officer of MQ Development Company and President of Gambit Realty, the company’s brokerage affiliate, Suzan Cooper is responsible for day-to-day operations of the organization.
In addition to the company’s business management, Suzan is responsible for lease negotiations and third party service provider engagements and contracts that support new development and operating projects, including brokerage, property management, legal, title and other non-construction related assignments.
Since 1980, Cooper has had commercial development, marketing, leasing, sales and management related assignments as an affiliate of commercial real estate organizations, Miller Commercial, Paragon Group, NationsBank and the Woodmont Companies in Ft. Worth, TX.
Suzan’s commercial real estate experience includes: regional responsibility for leasing, marketing a two million SF commercial property portfolio; she has negotiated leases and sale of commercial property in excess of three million SF.
A licensed real estate broker in Texas, Ms. Cooper holds the CCIM designation (Certified Commercial Investment Member), of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute. She served as President of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and was a Member of the Board for 5 years. She also served on the Board of directors of the North Texas CCIM chapter and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Suzan holds a B.A degree from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas.
Denny Pentecost, CPA, Development Principal, Florida
Mr. Pentecost directs new development activities in the Florida region for MQ Development Company. A licensed contractor in several states, including Florida, Pentecost has 25 years or related experience in the construction industry.
Prior to his career in construction, Denny was involved in mergers and acquisitions in the radio and television industry in which he assembled strategic groups of stations which were later sold to a large conglomerate.
Denny has a B.S. in Accounting from Arizona State university.
Jay G. Holman, DFW Development Affiliate
MQ local DFW retail developer, Jay G. Holman, is responsible for the “ground-up” development of retail projects located in Rockwall, Ft. Worth, Corinth, Midlothian, Forney and Aubrey, TX.
Mr. Holman, a Dallas native, began his career in commercial real estate in January, 1992, after graduating with a B.S. in real estate finance from the Culverhouse Business School, University of Alabama.
As a land broker associated with NewMarket-Grunnah/Cole, in Dallas, TX, Jay’s initial career focus was brokering “buy-sell” land transactions, within DFW suburban market growth corridors, for a select group of clients. During the first 5 years of Jay’s career as an Independent Contractor, he closed land and income producing property transactions valued at more than $300MM. Prior to forming his own investment company, Jay was associated with the Darrow Group-Dollar/Flowers Realty Partners at which time he maintained a model of acquisition and disposition – land and income producing property assets, for clients throughout northTexas.
In 2003, Jay formed Voyager Investments to acquire, develop and dispose of unimproved and improved land assets primarily zoned for commercial/retail use. Within this vehicle, Jay has either been the general partner or a limited partner participant, in land acquisition and disposition of developments, within the primary Texas markets, valued in excess of $350MM.
